Ray really enjoys your class, but he can be quite mischievous lately and tends to argue during lessons, sometimes showing a lack of politeness. I’m really sorry about this! Do you think he is able to express his thoughts clearly in class given his current English ability? And can he understand the material being taught?
Ray is one of my favorite students, and I enjoy having him in my class. Even if he likes to banter sometimes, I wouldn’t mind because I am quite accustomed to this age group, so no worries here! His English skills are suitable for our material, but since his new book is one level higher than the previous one, we might be facing more words that might not be familiar. He picks words up quickly, and I don’t mind repeating and reminding until he has completely learned. I remember once he told me that this is not an English class when I tried to explain a new word to him. I told him I’m a teacher and I’ll teach him either way, so if you don’t mind, explain to him how it’s alright to ask about words he doesn’t know or isn’t sure about from me. I’ll always be ready to help him!

Boris said you recommend great writing?
Hello! I recommended Great Writing because Boris needs more practice with spelling and organizing his ideas. He has great thoughts — this book will help him write them clearly and correctly. I’m also not sure if he was joking around yesterday when he wrote some words incorrectly, but after I corrected him, he fixed them right away

Thank you for the lovely feedback! We're glad he's progressing well. And thank you for reminding him to help at home — he actually does help me sometimes, but I guess it just didn‘t click for him in the moment to say yes in English! At eight, he’s very much a little helper in action. We really appreciate your kindness in teaching him about caring for family.
Caring for family is maybe more important than speaking English. I am glad that you understood my point. I always try to teach my students more than a language. How to help, how to share, and how to be a good person. I hope you don't mind.
